Blanca Rivera, 84, of Allentown, died Feb. 18 at Sacred Heart Hospital. She was the loving wife of Ramon Rivera for over 34 years. She was a daughter of the late Tulio and Santa (Sosa) Otero. Mrs. Rivera was an outstanding and active member of her church, New Bethany Evangelical Congregational of Allentown, helping daily at their food and clothing bank serving the poor and homeless of the Allentown area for over 10 years.
Survivors: Husband Ramon; sister Elisa Estrada of Yonkers, NY; son Pablo Juan Aponte Jr. of Hightstown, NJ; 4 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, one great-great grandchild and 2 nephews.
Services: Funeral at 11:00 a.m. Friday Feb. 24, New Bethany EC Church, 224 N. 6th St., Allentown with Pastor Gus Al-Khal officiating. Calling hours Thursday evening from 7-9 p.m., Nicos C. Elias Funeral Home, 1227 W. Hamilton St., Allentown, and also one hour prior to the service Friday in the church.
Contributions: to the Everlasting Life Ministry Community Kitchen for Senior Citizens fund at her church.
