Gregory Scott Boyer

Our dear friend, husband and mailman passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 31st, 2021 at the age of 55 at his home in Emmaus following a nearly 6 year battle with prostate cancer. He was a son of the late Donald A. and Betty Jane (Hunsberger) Boyer.

A 1983 graduate of William Allen H.S. and 1987 graduate of Bloomsburg University, he worked for Ice City for 13 years. Later Greg owned the Symphony Café for a few years before working for Davis Beverage. Ultimately, he worked for the US Postal Service in the Allentown branch retiring in July of 2020 with 20 years of service.

Never one to let you see him sweat the difficulties of his disease, Greg was a regular at Wind Creek until just a week before his passing. He loved to travel (most destinations had a casino attached), go to comedy shows and spend time around his pool with friends. His kitties Parker and Pete were very important to him.

He is survived by his husband and partner of 19 years Joseph Cade, sister Sandi Minarovic (Tim), brother Brooks (Karen) and five nieces and nephews – Stephanie, Lauren, Tommy, Greg and Jeffrey. He was predeceased by his parents and sister Bonnie Muller (Tom).

Services have been entrusted to the Nicos Elias Funeral Home, 1227 Hamilton Street, Allentown. A memorial service will take place on Thursday, August 5th at 11 a.m. with a greeting time from 10-11 a.m.

In lieu of flowers donations in Greg’s name can be made to the Lehigh County Humane Society, 640 Dixon Street, Allentown, PA 18103.

Fly high Greg, you were one of the great ones!
