Stephen L. Mayer, Jr., 56, of Alburtis, passed away Saturday, Jan. 25 at his home with his family by his side.
He was the husband of Jessie (Hoffert) Mayer.  Born in Allentown, he was a son of Stephen L. Mayer Sr. and the late Katharine (Kohler) Mayer, along with stepmother Judith C. Mayer.  He was an electrical contractor, working as a maintenance guard at Lehigh County Prison for over 16 years, and also was an EMT with Cetronia Ambulance in the 1970's and a volunteer firefighter with West Catasauqua in the 70's and 80's.  More recently he worked in security at Musikfest for 5 years.  He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force.
Stephen was a train enthusiast and enjoyed photographing locomotives.  He loved music from the 1970's.
 
Survivors:  wife Jessie; father; stepmother; daughters Amanda Hoffert of E. Greenville, Heather Mayer of Emmaus, and Katie Mayer at home; brother William of Bethlehem.
 
Services:  Graveside services on Friday, Jan. 31 at 11:30 a.m. at Northwood Cemetery, Emmaus. Celebration of Life immediately following at Goodwill Fire Co. #1, Trexlertown.  The Nicos C. Elias Funeral Home, Allentown is assisting the family.
