Riad N. Mitry

Riad Mitry, 74, of Allentown passed away surrounded by his loved ones on July 8, 2024 at Lehigh Valley Hospital, Cedar Crest. Born in Al Mishtaya, Syria, he was a son of the late Nicola and Salem (Salibi) Mitry.

He immigrated to the United States in 1976 and settled in the East Side of Allentown, Pennsylvania. He was known in the Syrian community as the butcher, a profession that was passed down from his great-grandfather.

Riad was known as the most gentile, loving, kind-hearted, humble and supportive man, and he left a lasting impact on everyone who knew him. His greatest passion was spending time with his family and friends. In addition to his family, he will be missed by the many lifelong friends he made over the years.

He is survived by his son Nicola Mitry; daughter Salee Mitry Billeh and her husband Bishara; loving mother of his children Rima Mitry; his sisters Rada, Kamal, Sabah, Souad, Jamili, Aiyda and Raheel; brothers Adnan and Elias; and grandchildren Leo, Rihanna and Grace along with extended family.

The family will receive condolences at St. George Church Hall in Allentown Thursday, July 11, 2024 from 6:00 pm-8:00 pm.

Services: viewing Friday, July 12, 2024 starting at 9:00 a.m. at St. George Orthodox Church, 1011 Catasauqua Ave., Allentown. Funeral service begins at 11:00 with burial following. Arrangements by Nicos C. Elias Funeral Home, Allentown.
