Mariah E. Simpson, 87, of Allentown passed away peacefully on August 6th at her home. Born in North Carolina, she was a daughter of the late Sania and Gracie (Webb) Owens. She was a seamstress by trade for over 50 years, working most recently at Fountain Hill Mills. She was an expert at making her own clothing and was well known as a “fashionista.” After retirement, she took it upon herself as a personal ministry to care for foster children. She fostered over 150 children, bringing many to salvation and baptism in the church and earning awards for her service.
Mariah is survived by her daughters Rose M. Davis, Darlene Simpson and Geraldine Clayton; son Levy D. Green; nine grandchildren and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews and extended family.
Services: Memorial on Saturday, August 17th at 10:00 a.m. in Grace Deliverance Baptist Church, 74 East Broad Street, Bethlehem, PA 18018. Arrangements by Nicos C. Elias Funeral Home, Allentown.
