Gladys Fernandez, 81, of Allentown passed away September 13th at her home. Born in the Dominican Republic, she was a daughter of the late Rafael Fernandez and Pura Alvarado. She earned a master's degree and worked as a teacher, social worker and licensed therapist most recently working in child protective services.
She is survived by her daughters Karen and Ludmina; a sister Idania and brother Quilvio; granddaughters Penelope and Camila along with extended family.
Services: viewing Saturday, September 21st starting at 10:00 a.m. at Nicos C. Elias Funeral Home, 1227 W. Hamilton St., Allentown. Funeral service begins at 12:00 noon, with interment following at Greenwood Cemetery, Allentown.
