Leo J. Thielmann, II

Leo J. Thielmann, II, age 81, of Allentown, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully on August 5th, 2025. 
Leo cherished his family. He is survived by his devoted wife of 55 years, Betty (Skivington), his son Mark and his daughter-in-law Betsy (Law), of Pennington, New Jersey where they reside with his three grandchildren, Phoebe, Jack and Andrew.  He is also survived by his brother, Bruce, sister-in-law Lorraine, and their family.  Leo also leaves behind his beloved dog, Astro. 
Born on March 12, 1944, in Veblen, South Dakota, Leo was the son of the late Leo John and Mae (Strege) Thielmann. He was a dedicated husband, father, grandfather, and friend whose character, intelligence, and sense of humor left a lasting impression on all who knew him.
Educated in a one-room schoolhouse adjacent to the family farm in Lidgerwood, North Dakota, Leo left to pursue a career in commercial development in the chemicals industry where he worked for over thirty years.  Throughout his career he developed long lasting friendships and was able to travel the country and the world.  He was known for his love of the outdoors that he shared with family and friends.  Throughout Leo’s life, he was an avid reader and also enjoyed fireworks, music, movies, and any kind of trivia. 
In lieu of flowers, gifts in memory of Leo may be made to Lehigh Valley Hospice at Lehigh Valley Health Network Office of Philanthropy. Arrangements by Nicos C. Elias Funeral Home, Allentown.
