Douglas R. Grym, of Whitehall, Pennsylvania, aged 75, passed away peacefully on December 28th, 2025 surrounded by his loved ones. Born on January 18th, 1950 in Bronx, New York, Doug lived a life devoted to his family.
As a veteran of the U.S. Army, Doug served his country in the Vietnam war with pride and integrity. After his time in the military, he became a carpenter and continued to build his family. Doug loved spending time with his grandchildren and was often seen in his workshop using his wood-working skills to craft whatever was desired by family and friends.
Doug also had a deep love for his cats, Nugget and Tick.
Doug is survived by his wife of 55 years, Kathleen, his children Doug (Tammy), Kathleen (Clifford), Sarah (Gina), Alisia (Dan), Alan (Nichole) and Charlie. His grandchildren, Courtney, Ashley, Brittany, Jarrid, Cassie, Kailyn, Gabriella, Madison, Jaclyn, Gavin, Kori, Kylie, Aubrey, Anthony, Juliet, Angela and Aryanna, His great grandchildren Isla and Rowan,and his siblings, Kenneth, Harry, Alan and Lydia.
Doug was preceded in death by his parents Harry and Cecilia, his son Floyd and his siblings, Artie, Donald, Eric, and Paul.
With respect to Doug's wishes, the family would like to mourn with a private celebration of life.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Doug’s memory can be made to the Purple Heart Foundation and St Jude's.
