Helen Malliaraki

Helen Malliaraki, 81, died January 20 at Valley Manor Nursing Home, Coopersburg.
 
Born in Athens, Greece, she was a daughter of the late Yiannis and Myrsini Georgoudis.  She was the wife of the late Nikolaos Malliaraki.  Helen worked at the Labropoulos Department Store in Athens for many years, then came to America from Greece in May of 1969.  She then worked at Palumbo Sportswear of Allentown, and later retired as a manger at the Sunnybrook Diner (now the Queen City Diner) in Allentown.  Mrs. Malliaraki was a longtime beloved member of St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Cathedral in Bethlehem.
 
Survivors:  Daughters Toulia Machlis and Marsha Malliaraki of Whitehall; grandsons George of Whitehall and Michalis of Athens, Greece; granddaughters Eleftheria of Athens, Caterina and Heleanna both of Whitehall. 
 

Services:  Funeral service at 11:00 a.m. Friday, January 27, St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Cathedral, 1607 W. Union Blvd., Bethlehem.  Calling hours from 7-9 p.m. Thursday Jan. 26 at Nicos C. Elias Funeral Home, 1227 W. Hamilton St., Allentown with Trisagion service at 8:30.  Additional calling 1 hour prior to the service in the Cathedral.  Interment, Cedar Hill Memorial Park.
