James J. Kane, 83, of Allentown passed away August 25th at Lehigh Valley Hospital, Cedar Crest. He was the husband of Barbara (McCann) Kane for 43 years. He worked as a mathematician for the U.S. Government during the cold war, helping write the guidance program for moon landings. He later worked in pharmaceuticals doing marketing, and also was an attorney in private practice. He loved playing Chess and was a member of the United States Chess Federation. He enjoyed traveling and road trips, classical music and opera.

He is survived by his wife Barbara; sons Matthew M. Kane, Jim; daughters Susan and Kathleen and extended family.

Services will be held at a later date. Arrangements by Nicos C. Elias Funeral Home, Allentown.
