Annetta A. Bortz (Stephen)

Annetta Stephen Bortz, at the age of 96, passed away quietly in her sleep at Phoebe home in Allentown, PA.  Annetta was a people person who loved life, fun and laughter. She graduated from Emmaus High School in 1942 and held several administrative jobs before retiring from Schindler-Haughton Elevator Company in 1987.

Annetta was preceded in death by her parents Stanley and Luella Stephen of Emmaus, PA; her husbands, Henry Wetherhold, Raymond Herman, and Russell Bortz.  She leaves behind her son Gary Wetherhold (Donna) and her stepdaughters, Sandy Daumer (Mike), Debbie Bernhard (Randy); her brother - LeRoy Stephen (Marylou).  Her grandchildren, Cori Crane, Brittany Wetherhold, Michelle Atcheson (Justin), Jeff Campbell, Doug Campbell, Matt Bernhard, and Vickie Bernhard; her great grandchildren - Liza Crane, Lauren Crane, Emma Atcheson, Allie Atcheson, Lilly Atcheson, Jeffery Atcheson, and William Atcheson; her nieces and nephew, Kim Davis, Kathy Fenstermaker, Kevin Stephen; and countless other relatives and friends she also considered family.

A memorial service for remembrance will be held Friday, April 1st at 2:00 p.m., in the LIBRARY ROOM of Phoebe Terrace, an independent living facility at 1940 W. Turner Street, Allentown, PA followed by the burial of her ashes at Jerusalem Western Salisbury Cemetery at 3441 Devonshire Road, Allentown, PA. 

Annetta’s heart was devoted to caring and giving to others. She was a dog lover too. In lieu of flowers, you can honor her with donations to the Humane Society or any other animal shelter of your choice. Arrangements by Nicos C. Elias Funeral Home, Allentown.
